Wisconsin Judge Arrested: Trump Administration Takes Action Against Judicial Misconduct With Two Judges In The Hot Seat
The Trump administration has made its stance clear: no one, regardless of title or position, is above the law. That commitment was once again demonstrated this week with the arrests of two judges, Joel Cano, charged for evidence tempering to protect an illegal immigrant and Hannah Dugan for concealing an individual involved in violent crimes to prevent arrest and obstruction of justice.
The case against Judge Joel Cano has sent shockwaves through legal and political circles. Cano, formerly sitting on a state bench, was found to be harboring a member of Tren de Aragua, a notoriously violent transnational gang originating in Venezuela. The individual he allegedly helped, Christhian Ortega-Lopez was not only in the country illegally, but was also actively sought by federal law enforcement.
Tren de Aragua, now labeled a terrorist organization by U.S. intelligence agencies, has been linked to brutal crimes across Latin America and within U.S. borders, including human trafficking, extortion, and murder. Their presence in the U.S. has grown as illegal immigration surges, making their infiltration of American communities a grave national security concern.
According to investigative reports, Judge Cano not only housed the gang member in his personal residence but also posed in photos with him, photos that include visible weapons. The public revelation of these images has added to the gravity of the case and raised questions about how deeply involved Cano may have been with the gang’s operations.
Following internal investigations, Judge Cano was disbarred, resigned from his judicial seat, and was later arrested alongside his wife for harboring a known criminal illegal alien. Federal authorities are pursuing felony charges, and the case is being handled as a national security matter.
In a separate but equally disturbing case, Judge Hannah Dugan is now facing charges of her own. Known for her liberal political affiliations and her leadership role in a church-based nonprofit organization that has long advocated for undocumented immigrants, Dugan’s case reveals a troubling intersection of ideology and obstruction of justice.
According to federal agents, the individual Dugan assisted in evading law enforcement, is Eduardo Flores-Ruiz. An illegal alien who was in court for violent offenses including strangulation and aggravated assault against both a man and a woman. Despite the severity of the charges, Dugan reportedly abandoned the court proceedings, left the victims waiting in the courtroom, and directed the illegal alien to an alternate exit, effectively facilitating his escape from justice.
Harboring an illegal immigrant is a federal crime. Doing so while that individual is actively being prosecuted for violence raises the stakes even higher. Judge Dugan has now been arrested and charged with two felonies.

This marks a clear moment of accountability. The Trump administration has consistently warned that aiding and abetting illegals, especially violent criminal aliens, will not be tolerated. This week’s arrests underscore that promise.
And yet, the political fallout has exposed sharp hypocrisy. During former President Trump’s time in office, Democrats repeatedly declared that no one is above the law while supporting a slew of investigations and prosecutions targeting him and his allies. But now, with two judges, one with confirmed gang ties and the other who enabled a violent offender to escape, many of the same voices are defending their actions and questioning the arrests.
“No one is above the law”
The facts are clear. These are not abstract policy debates or courtroom technicalities. Two judges helped violent, illegal criminals evade justice. Federal law was broken. Victims were ignored. And now, those who committed these acts are being held accountable.
This is not political persecution. This is the legal system doing exactly what it is supposed to do, uphold the law, without exception, even when those who break it wear robes and sit on the bench.
